Five things for fans to know before West Ham

Wednesday 22 September 2021 08:36

It’s time for our first midweek home match of the season, against West Ham United. Here are some tips for those coming along to the game.

TICKETING

Please check you have your digital match ticket and have downloaded it to your mobile wallet or printed the 'Print At Home' copy ahead of the game.

As a reminder to Season-Ticket holders, we will issue separate match tickets for all cup games this season, please ensure you are scanning the digital ticket with 'West Ham United Carabao Cup' displayed.

TRAVEL

Expect the roads around the ground to be busy from 17:00 BST as people drive home from work and fans travel to the stadium. If you have to drive to the game, allow additional time for your journey and remember roadworks are taking place on Trafford Road.

A six-minute tram service will be operating to Old Trafford on the Altrincham line but fans should also consider travelling to/from Wharfside, Exchange Qu.ay and Trafford Bar as services may be quieter (and quicker).

If you're travelling by Metrolink as a family, you can save money with a family travelcard which allows travel for one to three children (aged under 16) accompanied by one or two adults.

We meet the Hammers again in midweek, but this time it's at Old Trafford and cup progress is at stake.

COVID-19 CERTIFICATION

We are in ongoing discussions with the football authorities in relation to COVID certification at our matches following the Government’s publication of their COVID-19 Response: Autumn and Winter Plan 2021 last week.

With this in mind, there will be spot-checks on arrival to the stadium and all adult supporters (18+) should be prepared to present their NHS COVID Pass upon request to confirm they are either fully vaccinated or have received a negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours of kick-off.

For now, fans who do not have the correct certification will still be permitted entry unless of course they have tested positive for COVID-19. However, we strongly encourage all fans over 18 years old to be prepared to prove their COVID-19 status.

STADIUM POLICIES - A FEW REMINDERS

1. Old Trafford is an all-seater stadium - supporters should not stand whilst in the seating areas.

2. Any alcohol purchases must be consumed in the concourses or in the hospitality lounges.

3. Please remember that Old Trafford is a no-smoking venue.

SECURITY IS A TEAM EFFORT

And finally, when you are at Old Trafford please report anything that doesn’t seem right straight away to a steward.
