Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has been voted Denmark’s Talent of the Year for 2023.

The 20-year-old had his international breakthrough in 2022, before scoring a hat-trick for his homeland in a 3-1 victory over Finland, at the Parken Stadium, endearing himself to supporters with his fabulous finishing. He followed it up with a brace against Kazakhstan, in a 3-2 triumph away from home.

Our summer buy has been a key figure in Denmark’s Euro 2024 qualifying campaign as they topped Group H in order to qualify for next year's finals, where they will meet Slovenia, Serbia and England.

Rasmus Hojlund has been rewarded for his efforts throughout 2023.

Our no.11 netted seven times in his eight outings in the competition, to be among the top scorers of the campaign.

Though he is still awaiting his first Premier League strike, the youngster was in fine form for Erik ten Hag’s men during our UEFA Champions League programme.

The young Scandinavian found the back of the net five times, with his first goal for the club coming against Bayern Munich in our Group A curtain-raiser.

“It means a lot to me,” Hojlund said of the award.

“I’m incredibly proud. It’s an extremely talented field of players, but I also think I’ve done well this year, and I’m really happy and proud of myself to win the award.

“It’s always great to win, and there are many talented footballers who have won this award before me - team-mates and former team-mates - so it’s great to be able to say that you have become Talent of the Year.”
