Hojlund's kind post-match gesture

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund provided a special memento for one young fan on Monday night.

The young Denmark striker is never short of endeavour and, after opening his Premier League account against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, was eager to add to his United tally in our 2-0 Emirates FA Cup triumph at Wigan Athletic.

Goals from Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes sealed the victory, but Hojlund went close on a handful of occasions - striking the bar in the first half - and on another day would have found the net at least once.

Rasmus's determination was appreciated by the 7,000+ Reds supporters inside the DW Stadium on a cold night in the north-west of England, and he repaid one fan for the dedication and backing.

Rasmus Hojlund made this young fan's day after the full-time whistle at Wigan...

After the final whistle blew, the 20-year-old and the rest of our squad went over to the sold-out away section to applaud our supporters who made the trip to Wigan.

One young fan in particular held a Denmark flag-inspired sign, asking for Hojlund's shirt.

Rasmus made a beeline for this Red, and his father, and fulfilled the request.

Beaming, the young supporter was understandably ecstatic at receiving this kind gesture, on the back of a safe passage into round four of the competition.

"One hundred per cent, it certainly made my lad's night," said his dad.

"He has gone to bed one happy Red. I'm sure it will be a game he will remember for the rest of his life."

Night = made.
