Manchester United will host Scunthorpe United in the FA Youth Cup third round.

The tie will be played on Monday 13 December at Old Trafford. Supporters are encouraged to attend and entrance is free. Head here to get your ticket. Please note that tickets will not be available to buyy on the day of the game.

Scunthorpe have been several rounds already to reach this stage and won 1-0 against Guiseley Academy in November's Second Round tie, courtesy of a goal by Harrison Poulter.

Travis Binnion will take charge of the FA Youth Cup team.

Guiseley had been through a number of ties, including qualifying, to reach the second-round stage, and had knocked out Rochdale, Ossett United, Grimsby Borough and Tadcaster Albion.

Scunthorpe, meanwhile, beat Shrewsbury Town last week to secure their spot and will be relishing the trip to Manchester.

Should United beat Scunthorpe on Monday night, the Reds will travel to Reading, who defeated Bromley in their Third Round tie.

Manchester United have won the FA Youth Cup on a record 10 occasions (1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1964, 1992, 1995, 2003 and 2011) and reached a further four finals (1982, 1986, 1993, 2007).

The club's best performance in the last few years was a semi-final appearance in 2019/20.

Other notable ties in this term's third round include holders Aston Villa facing Leicester City, West Ham taking on Newcastle United and Manchester City travelling to Middlesbrough. Liverpool (Fleetwood Town) and Chelsea (Leyton Orient or Newport County) will be favourites to progress from their home assignments.
