Tuesday 31 October 2023 21:50

Manchester United's Under-21s lost 4-3 against Salford City in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night at the Peninsula Stadium.

Our young Reds took the lead inside the first ten minutes through Shola Shoretire, before first-half strikes from Conor McAleny and Matthew Lund flipped the scoreline on its head in favour of the hosts.

United then scored twice in quick succession at the start of the second period, with Omari Forson and Shoretire both finding the net to make it 3-2 to Travis Binnion's side.

City were then awarded two penalties inside the final ten minutes, with Lund converting both of his spot-kicks to complete his hat-trick and ensure victory for the League Two outfit.

Shola Shoretire peels away in celebration after scoring his second of the evening.
