Solskjaer: Lindelof to miss Partizan game

Victor Lindelof will miss Manchester United’s Europa League match against Partizan Belgrade on Thursday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

The Sweden centre-back, who picked up a knock against Chelsea last week but played at Bournemouth, was absent from the Reds’ latest work-out, in front of the media at Aon Training Complex on Wednesday morning, but Ole is hopeful the defender will be back for the Brighton game on Sunday.

“No, Victor is out, so he won’t be available,” Ole told MUTV.

“Hopefully he can make the weekend but I’m not sure.”

Eric Bailly is making good progress after knee surgery.

Fellow central defender Eric Bailly, who was pictured at the Aon Training Complex earlier this week, is two or three weeks away from a return to any action after undergoing knee surgery in July.

“They’re working on the grass, they’re working with the fitness staff,” Ole said when asked about Bailly and fellow absentee Tim Fosu-Mensah.

“I think we can see them coming into training, especially Eric, in the next two to three weeks. Hopefully, he can join the boys and he won’t take too long.

“Maybe we’ll see them in a Reserves [Under-23s] game but I think they’ve both come through the surgery well.”

Paul Pogba is another absentee who will return soon.

At his press conference, Ole added that Luke Shaw, who trained away from the group on Wednesday, will hopefully be back soon and Paul Pogba is also still on schedule.

"I think Paul said it himself, didn't he?" said the boss. "It won’t be too long until he’s out of his cast and he’s going to work though the international break. Hopefully, we’ll have him back in early December."

There are no further details on Axel Tuanzebe, Diogo Dalot, Nemanja Matic and Angel Gomes, all of whom are still missing with injury.

"Nothing to report," Ole stressed. "No updates from the last few weeks. Hopefully, after the international break, we can get a few more back."
