Blog: Swansea v United

United started the Barclays Premier League title defence in style with a resounding 4-1 win at Swansea. Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck shared the goals and Wayne Rooney came off the bench to assist the third and fourth strikes. Check out how the action unfolded below.

Full time: Swansea 1 United 4

92' GOAL! Welbeck produces the classiest of chips to make it number four in the dying seconds after another assist by Rooney. The forward lifts a delightful finish over Vorm that drops in at the far post - he has scored as many goals this season as he did last term now! 1-4.

90' Four minutes of added time will be played. United are looking good for the three points.

88' Carrick concedes a needless corner that De Gea punches away to Rooney. The substitute sensibly holds play up and draws a clumsy foul for his team.

86' Anderson is on for the closing stages as he comes on for two-goal hero van Persie, who is even applauded by the home supporters.

85' Bony runs into Evra and United get the free-kick. Hopefully that will relieve some of the pressure but Vidic and Ferdinand will know how to use their experience to ensure there are no late scares.

82' GOAL! Welbeck is caught in possession on the edge of his own box and Hernandez nips in to tee up Bony for a clinical finish to De Gea's left. The Ivory Coast striker wasn't going to miss on this occasion and Swansea have a goal back. 1-3.

81' Bony gets his header wrong after Shelvey picks him out on the edge of the six-yard box with a right-wing cross. The big-money buy should really have hit the target.

79' The away end are in joyous mood, as you would expect. This has been a terrific response to a tricky start to the campaign as we approach the final 10 minutes.
