McTominay injury update

Erik ten Hag has told club media it is too early to say how serious Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay's injury is.

The Scotland international was clearly hurt when being forced off the pitch in front of the Stretford End, in the move that involved a strong penalty shout when Antony had a shot handled inside the box.

Scott swiftly signalled to come off and the substitute was replaced by Mason Mount for the final few minutes of the disappointing 1-1 draw.

In his interview with MUTV's Liam Bradford, the boss said: "We have to assess this, to set the diagnosis.

"I don't know in this moment to return [against Crystal Palace next month], I think it's a little bit too quick turnaround."

McTominay came on for Kobbie Mainoo in the 65th minute before going down in the penalty area as we entered injury time.

"I don't know," Erik also told the official broadcasters after the match, when asked about McTominay. "You have seen he has a problem. We have to diagnose this and see what it is."

With the Emirates FA Cup final on 25 May, against Manchester City at Wembley, on the horizon, followed by the European Championship finals, and Scotland facing hosts Germany in the opening game, it is hoped there will be good news and no extended lay-off for the Academy product.

United's Selhurst Park fixture is on Bank Holiday Monday (6 May), kicking off at 20:00 BST.
