Captain Marvel himself, Bryan Robson will act as manager of the United side for the home leg at Old Trafford on Saturday 21 May (KO 15:00 BST), following successful management stints for Legends matches against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Robson, who made 461 appearances and scored 99 goals for Manchester United in his 13 years at the club, said: “It’s always exciting playing against Liverpool; even in legends games that rivalry is still there. But, it is also about raising money for Manchester United Foundation, which really helps to encourage and educate young people in communities across Greater Manchester.”

See your favourite United Legends take to the pitch to face their former Liverpool adversaries, as they fight to be crowned Legends of the North in what is sure to be a dramatic clash at Old Trafford this May. The list of names you can expect to see on the pitch in May is growing, with the squad so far including; Diego Forlan, Patrice Evra, John O'Shea, Mikael Silvestre, Karel Poborsky, Jaap Stam, Wes Brown, Louis Saha, Ronny Johnsen, Jesper Blomqvist, Dimitar Berbatov, Nicky Butt, Quinton Fortune and Antonio Valencia.

We are delighted to announce that the United team will be captained by legend Gary Neville, the latest player to be confirmed for the Legends of the North match.

As well as being the stuff that dreams are made of, the game is for a fantastic cause: all proceeds from the Old Trafford match will go to Manchester United Foundation’s work with young people across Greater Manchester.
