Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho may be unavailable for the final game of the Premier League season at Crystal Palace.

The Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year scored twice in the FA Youth Cup final victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford and has enjoyed an excellent season for the Under-18s.

After making his senior debut against Chelsea and being involved in the first-team squad, it was anticipated he could feature at some stage in south London this weekend.

Ralf Rangnick delivers his final squad update for the last game of the season.

"Unfortunately, Alejandro was ill in the last couple of days," revealed interim boss Ralf Rangnick at his press conference to preview the Eagles clash. "He was training with us until midweek last week but then he had to drop out because he was ill and I think today was the first training session that he was back again.

"He might well be in the squad but I'm not sure if he's physically, after this illness, capable and fit enough to play."

It could be a bit of bad timing for the 17-year-old, who has had an Argentina call-up during a season of real progress.

Rangnick has also suggested there are likely to be several absentees for the 16:00 BST kick-off at Selhurst Park on Sunday, with United still requiring three points to guarantee a place in the 2022/23 Europa League ahead of West Ham United, who are two points behind in seventh spot.
