Alex Telles

Telles returns to training after coronavirus

Friday 06 November 2020 12:44

Recent signing Alex Telles has returned to full training with Manchester United on the eve of Saturday’s Premier League match against Everton at Goodison Park.

The Brazil international has made one appearance for the Reds so far - against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League - and he impressed supporters with his all-action style of play.

Telles then tested positive for COVID-19 and the 27-year-old former Porto man had to complete a two-week period of isolation, forcing him to miss our recent matches against Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir.

Alex has thankfully rejoined the squad and our cameras filmed him at the Aon Training Complex on Friday morning, working hard with the first-team squad ahead of the trip to Merseyside.

Telles will hope to be involved against a Toffees team that has made a bright start to the season under Carlo Ancelotti and United are determined to bring three points back to Manchester.

That is our last match before the November international break and Telles has already been named in the Brazil squad, for their World Cup 2020 qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay.

During our sit-down interview with Ole at the Aon Training Complex, he gave this update on the squad before Saturday's match at Everton.

“We've not lost any [players] from the Istanbul trip,” the manager said. “Same group, same squad.

“Alex has started training with us, which is good. Victor has still got the issue that he's been struggling with. He'll have to be checked tonight [Friday] in the hotel.

“It's the same squad as before Istanbul really.”
