Early team news for United's Palace visit

Following Monday's 2-2 draw with Southampton at Old Trafford, the Reds have two matches in London in quick succession - our visit to the Eagles and Sunday's Emirates FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea.

United will be keen to get back to winning ways at Selhurst Park and the manager must consider whether to change his line-up for the kick-off at 20:15 BST, having named the same side for the last five league matches.

There could be enforced alterations with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams both going off injured in the latter stages of the game with the Saints.

Shaw appeared to turn his ankle when bursting into the opposition box; his replacement Williams was hurt when winning a header against Kyle Walker-Peters and required stitches in a cut above his eye.

Both will continue to be assessed by staff at the Aon Training Complex and Ole is likely to give an update on the pair when he speaks to club media and at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be hoping to play for United at his old stamping ground, while Eagles winger Wilfried Zaha is also in line to face his former club.

Palace won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Old Trafford back in August 2019, with a late goal by Patrick van Aanholt.

Daniel James scored for the Reds that day and he could be in the manager's thinking again after coming off the bench on Monday.

Christian Benteke is ruled out following his red card at the end of Palace's defeat to his former side Aston Villa, which could mean Jordan Ayew reverting to centre-forward. 

Gary Cahill pulled his hamstring against his ex-employers Chelsea recently and, with James Tomkins also sidelined, Roy Hodgson may keep faith with Scott Dann and Mamadou Sakho at the heart of his defence. Jeffrey Schlupp, who once had a spell with our Reserves, has also been absent.
