Early team news for United's Granada trip

Tuesday 06 April 2021 17:00

Manchester United trained in front of our cameras on Tuesday, ahead of the midweek trip to Spain to face Granada in the last eight of the Europa League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Reds are looking to take a positive result back to Old Trafford for the second leg, when visiting La Liga's ninth-placed team in Thursday night's clash at Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes.

There were several selection issues surrounding Sunday's 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. First of all, Anthony Martial could be out for the rest of the season after damaging his knee while on international duty with France.

Alex Telles was out through illness and Eric Bailly tested positive for COVID-19 during his stay with Ivory Coast as they qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Marcus Rashford was withdrawn after scoring against the Seagulls due to a knock, with the boss confirming afterwards it was a concern.

Rashford was not spotted by our photographers in the session, but Telles trained and it was pleasing to see Juan Mata back in the fold.

Reds youngsters Shola Shoretire and Amad will also hope to be involved in the squad again, as will Anthony Elanga after he was added to the club's B list for the competition. There will also be a choice to make in goal again with David De Gea and Dean Henderson vying for the gloves.

Ole will provide an update on his squad in Wednesday's press conference, which is due to take place at 13:00 BST.

GRANADA'S TEAM NEWS

Diego Martinez's side defeated Napoli and Molde in the knock-out stages in their first campaign in European competition.

It has been a long road to this stage for the Andalusians and the squad is being stretched. Full-backs Dimitri Foulquier and Carlos Neva could be missing as the team seeks a positive reaction to their 3-0 home defeat by Villarreal at the weekend.

Chelsea loanee Kenedy and ex-Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado are two players with Premier League experience, while Venezuelan midfielder Yangel Herrera is on loan from Manchester City.
