Fans are loving Cavani's posts from a rare day off
Walking has become a national pastime during lockdown, but for Edinson Cavani it is a way of life and the Manchester United striker is taking full advantage of his surroundings in the North West.
The Uruguay international completed his transfer to Old Trafford on 5 October and has naturally been busy settling into his new environment, working hard with his team-mates at the Aon Training Complex and making five substitute appearances in all competitions as he builds his match sharpness.
A milestone was achieved on Saturday when Cavani scored his first goal for the club with a neat finish past Everton's Jordan Pickford to conclude an excellent 3-1 Premier League win at Goodison Park.
On Sunday, with the squad enjoying a day off from the relentless fixture list, our no.7 opted against Netflix and chill to head for the hills, which he documented via his official social media accounts and to the delight of fans.
Dressed in camouflage walking gear - perhaps to keep a low profile - Edinson posted the selfie and video that you can see below, along with the caption: “Nothing more beautiful, nature.”

A keen fisherman and nature lover, Cavani will no doubt enjoy his surroundings in Manchester and, in our interview to mark his transfer to United, he spoke candidly about his passion for the outdoors.
“I'm very calm and relaxed off the field - very laid-back,” he said. “I'm a little bit calmer. I'm one of life's hard workers. On a day off for me, the first thing I try to do is to try to go out for a walk. I really like nature and it's true that I like to go fishing; I like the countryside and wildlife. So, whenever I get a day off, I try to get away from that football environment and all that comes with it on occasions.”
PRAISE FROM HIS TEAM-MATES
At the weekend, United captain Harry Maguire was quick to congratulate Cavani on scoring his first goal for the club and backed the Uruguay international to make a big contribution this season.
“It’s great to see Cavani come on,” Harry said. “He worked tirelessly up there and did the dirty work and he got his rewards right at the end. I think he's going to be a big player for us, he’s going to score goals. He knows where the back of the net is and I’ve seen that in training a few times already. He’s just getting up to speed in terms of his training and work-rate but he’s going to be a big player.”

Bruno Fernandes was also happy to supply the assist from which Cavani finished past Pickford, even though the Portuguese playmaker could have shot himself to seal a potential hat-trick.
“I think strikers need to score and have the confidence. A striker is confident when he scores. For Edi it’s really important. Everyone knows Edi is a striker who’s done everything in the world of football. He really helps a lot and it will be much better for him after this first goal.”
