Boss confirms Eriksen comeback target

Erik ten Hag believes Christian Eriksen is on course for a Manchester United return next month.

The influential midfielder, who arrived at Old Trafford last summer on a free transfer, was injured in the Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie with Reading, but has been working hard on his recovery.

Initially, the forecast was that the Denmark international would be available again either in April or May, and he appears to be on schedule for the earlier side of that prediction.

"Yes, some point in April, he will be back," the manager told MUTV's Mark Sullivan at Carrington. "He is doing really well, really good in his rehab.

"The progress is very good and we have to see how that develops in the coming weeks."

Eriksen obviously misses Denmark's upcoming European Championship qualifiers, at home to Finland, and away to Kazakhstan, in addition to our FA Cup quarter-final date with Fulham on Sunday.

United have nine games already scheduled for April, now the Europa League quarter-final legs with Sevilla have been arranged.

As the business end of the campaign approaches, it would be a real boost to be able to welcome the 31-year-old back into the fold, after a very positive opening to his United career.
