How much are you looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Premier League?
"Playing in the Premier League has always been a dream for me. And, as I said before, I want to give my all to achieve the best results possible for Manchester United."

You've played against a few English sides before (Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester and Liverpool). What were your experiences like in those games? Did that give you a flavour of what to expect from Premier League sides?
"I’m in the best moment of my life in terms of being a versatile player, and obviously coming to play in the Premier League and playing against the opponents I have done already, and playing in a league as strong as the Premier League. I hope to be able to bring my best to the club."

You scored 13 goals last season in all competitions. That's remarkable for a defender - what's your secret and do you work on your shooting?
"I look at being a defender in a different way with my goals. I’m looking to create more openings wherever possible but during training I also pay particular attention to set-piece training. Apart from the key basics of being a defender, which is obviously about defending well, I want to have extra aspects to my game so I’m a versatile player."

The modern full-back is expected to be capable of attacking and defending to an excellent standard - do you see that as an important part of your game, being able to thrive at both ends of pitch?
"Absolutely. I have great beliefs in my defensive capabilities but also in my attacking ability. I’m in the best moment of my career and I believe I’ve grown a lot, and hopefully I can continue to do so."

You played with Diogo Dalot at Porto, so did you speak to him before signing for United? What advice did he give you?
"I spoke to Diogo and he sent me a message to wish me good luck. United is a big club and I want to help United grow as a football club."

What will it be like when you meet up with all your new team-mates after the internationals?
"I believe I’m going to meet a marvellous group. I’ve spoken to Bruno Fernandes and he’s said how welcoming the boys are. I believe I will settle very well into the group."

At the moment, you're preparing for two key games with Brazil. Are you looking forward to those matches?
"Yes, I’m very much looking forward to it, particularly now being a Manchester United player as well. I’ve got that mentality that I want to win games and I want to win trophies. It’s all about the big moments."

Finally have you got a message for United fans all over the world?
"I’m coming here to give my all. It’s a big club and I’m here to help the team win games and I hope I can show my best to the fans."
