Your essential guide to United v Liverpool

Setting the scene... So far, Tour 2018, presented by Aon, has seen United go unbeaten with draws against Club America and San Jose Earthquakes followed up with a penalty-shootout victory against AC Milan. Now the attention turns to a familiar rival in Liverpool, as the Reds and the Merseysiders renew their conflict at the second biggest sporting venue in the world - the 100,000+ seater Michigan Stadium.

How can I watch? The match will kick off at 22:05 BST on Saturday evening (17:05 EDT local time) and, like all of United's pre-season games, it will be live on MUTV. In the UK and Ireland, the channel is available via Sky, Virgin Media and MUTV.com. Outside the UK and Ireland, it can be viewed on MUTV.com, through the MUTV app on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Xbox, and on Roku.

What about Liverpool? The Merseysiders have also been competing in the International Champions Cup. Their tournament opened with a surprise 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, which came despite taking the lead in the game. However, Jurgen Klopp's side bounced back with a 2-1 victory over last season's Premier League champions Manchester City at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. 

Where are we playing? Our second International Champions Cup fixture will take place at the Michigan Stadium, better known as 'The Big House'. The second largest stadium in the world last hosted United back in 2014, when the Reds defeated Real Madrid 3-1 courtesy of an Ashley Young brace and a goal from Javier Hernandez in front of 109,318 supporters - a record for a football match in the United States.

Have we played Liverpool before in the ICC? The one and only time that United and Liverpool have met in the International Champions Cup was the final back in 2014. The Reds, then managed by Louis Van Gaal, initially fell behind courtesy of a Steven Gerrard spot-kick, but fought back with goals from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard to win 3-1 and claim the pre-season trophy.

Who could feature? Jose Mourinho is set to be without first-team regulars Nemanja Matic, Antonio Valencia and Anthony Martial. Matic arrived late to the squad after his World Cup commitments, but is considered to be an injury doubt for this weekend's game. Valencia, meanwhile, has flown home after picking up what is believed to be a calf injury in the 0-0 draw against San Jose Earthquakes and could be a doubt for the start of the Premier League season. Meanwhile, Anthony Martial has flown to his native Paris to be with his partner, who has given birth to their second child. David De Gea and Fred have linked up with the squad following their World Cup exploits with Spain and Brazil respectively and were involved in Thursday's training session, but it remains to be seen if they will be involved against Liverpool. 

What happened in last season's games against Liverpool? United claimed four points from the two Premier League matches against Klopp's side in 2017/18, as the sides played out a goalless draw at Anfield last October before Marcus Rashford scored twice to help Mourinho's men run out 2-1 winners when Liverpool visited Old Trafford back in March.
