Man United v Wolves: The essential info

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday, when we welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford for the second time in less than a month.

Remarkably, it’s our fourth meeting of the season with the Midlands club, following August’s 1-1 draw in the league and two third-round FA Cup clashes in January, where the Reds eventually triumphed thanks to a 1-0 replay win.

The two teams are level on 34 points in the table – along with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur – though United are ahead in fifth by virtue of a healthier goal difference.

With fourth-placed Chelsea our next opponents, following the winter break, a win here would be a vital boost to our top-four hopes. WHICH TV CHANNEL IS IT ON?
 
Saturday afternoon’s final Premier League match will be broadcast live in the UK via Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HD. You can also keep across all of the action on MUTV. Prior to kick-off, subscribers can watch the build-up via the ‘Match Day Live’ show from 16:00 GMT, followed by live commentary of the game itself. Highlights of the match will be available on ManUtd.com and in the Official App two hours after the final whistle (approx. 21:20 GMT).
WHO IS THE REFEREE?
 
Paul Tierney is the man in black for Saturday’s clash. The 39-year-old Lancastrian has already officiated four United matches so far this term, including one against Wolves (the third-round Emirates FA Cup tie at Molineux, which finished 0-0). He also oversaw our 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in August, our 2-1 win over Spurs in December, and the Carabao Cup triumph away to Chelsea.
 
Interestingly, Tierney dished out no red cards in his first 23 matches of the season, but has branded three in his last two Premier League games (Crystal Palace v Arsenal and Norwich v Bournemouth). Tierney will be assisted by Harry Lennard, Marc Perry and fourth official Chris Kavanagh. Mike Dean and Andy Halliday will be responsible for VAR duties.
Juan Mata provided the winner the last time we met Wolves, in January's FA Cup third-round replay.
RIVALS WATCH
 
The team one place above us in the table, Chelsea, take on third-placed Leicester City in Saturday’s early kick-off (12:30 GMT) at the King Power Stadium. Tottenham welcome Manchester City to their much-praised new home on Sunday afternoon (16:30 GMT). League leaders Liverpool host Southampton on Saturday (15:00 GMT).
