United v Tottenham moved for TV coverage

Wednesday 23 September 2020 16:00

The Premier League has announced Manchester United’s upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford has been moved back by 24 hours for television coverage.

Our much-anticipated game against Jose Mourinho’s Spurs had originally been scheduled for Saturday 3 October at 15:00 BST.

However, it will now take place on Sunday 4 October and the action will begin at 16:30 BST, with fans in the UK able to watch it on Sky Sports.

The Premier League’s announcement does not include any other United fixtures in October, presumably because a two-week international break will commence after our match with Spurs.

After that, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds will finish the month with a series of challenging league outings against Newcastle United (at St James’ Park), Chelsea and Arsenal (both at Old Trafford).

UNITED’S OCTOBER FIXTURES

Next month will be a festival of football for the Reds with at least six huge games across all competitions set to take place, including our return to UEFA Champions League action.

The draw for the group-stage will take place in Athens, Greece, on Thursday 1 October and that event will provide further information on our upcoming schedule. For the time being, here’s how it stands for United:

3 October | Tottenham Hotspur (H)
17 October | Newcastle United (A)
20/21 October | Champions League matchday one
24 October | Chelsea (H)
27/28 October | Champions League matchday two
31 October | Arsenal (H)

*All Premier League games, excluding Tottenham, are subject to change.

BUT BEFORE ANY OF THAT

Solskjaer’s men are currently preparing for this Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium, which kicks off at 12:30 BST and is to be shown live in the UK by BT Sport.

The Seagulls could also provide our opposition next week in the Carabao Cup fourth round, if they overcome Preston North End in Wednesday’s third-round tie at Deepdale.

United reached the fourth round by beating Championship club Luton Town 3-0 on Tuesday night, thanks to goals from Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood at Kenilworth Road.

The new season is here. Our 2020/21 home, away and third kits are available now from United Direct.
