Manchester United is delighted to confirm the signing of Jane Ross to the club’s women’s team.

The 29-year-old striker spent the 2018/19 season with Women’s Super League club West Ham United, and was most recently part of the Scotland national team that participated in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Further information will be communicated in due course.

GET TO KNOW ROSS

The experienced Rothesay-born forward began her career at youth level with Paisley Saints Ladies and had already received a call-up to the Scotland Women’s Under-19 squad by the age of 16.

In 2006, she joined Glasgow City, where she won six Scottish Women’s Premier League titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups as well as helping the club reach the last 16 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League in the 2011/12 campaign.

In 2013, Ross moved to Sweden to pursue her career of playing professional football, joining Vittsjö GIK. She spent three seasons with the Swedish side, scoring 51 goals in 82 appearances.

Ross has represented her nation, Scotland, for 10 years.

Ross then moved to England, joining Manchester City in November 2015. In two-and-a-half years with our cross-city rivals, Jane netted 25 times in 61 matches across all competitions.

The striker then moved to fellow top-flight club West Ham in the summer of 2018, scoring 11 goals in 30 appearances in her only season in London.

After making her international debut against England in 2009, Jane has gone on to score 58 goals in 128 caps for her country. She was part of the Scotland squad at the 2017 European Championship and made one appearance at the recent Women’s World Cup, in their 2-1 defeat by Japan, as Shelley Kerr’s side were unluckily knocked out in the group stage.
