The week ahead for United

The Reds extended our unbeaten record under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to 11 games on Saturday, with a comfortable 3-0 Premier League win at Fulham. But there's little time to rest and reflect on that 10th success under the Norwegian, as today is all about the build-up to Tuesday night's epic Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain. The Reds will be training at the Aon Training Complex this morning, with the first 15 minutes of the session open to the media from 11:00 GMT. Ole will hold his pre-match press conference at Old Trafford at 14:00 GMT before PSG manager Thomas Tuchel also speaks to the media later today, while the French giants will also be training at Old Trafford in the evening. TUESDAY

It's matchday, as our Champions League campaign resumes with the first leg of our last-16 tie against the French champions (kick-off 20:00 GMT). We've never met the Rouge et Bleu (who were founded in 1970) before, which adds another level of intrigue, as does the absence of key player Neymar, who has been ruled out of the game with a metatarsal injury. We've never lost a home game against French opposition (winning 10 and drawing four). Hopefully that statistic will still be intact come Wednesday morning! Elsewhere, on this day in 1945, Matt Busby became United manager. 

WEDNESDAY

It's the morning after the night before, as we reflect on a massive night of European action in M16. But it's back to business for United Women, who travel to Sutton Park to face Leicester City Women in the FA Women's Championship. Casey Stoney's team have dropped to fourth in the table due to postponements and cup commitments, but have two or three games in hand on the teams above them. They'll be looking to ensure the gap to the top doesn't widen any further as they wait for those chances to reel in Tottenham Hotspur Ladies, Charlton Athletic and Durham.

Ole is set to speak to the media again on Friday, as the build-up starts to another huge test for the Reds - this time away at Chelsea, who we'll face at Stamford Bridge in the Emirates FA Cup fifth round on Monday 18 February (kick-off 19:30 GMT). Keep your ears and eyes peeled for any information the boss might reveal about the composition of his starting XI.

 

Three days of cup action for a trio of our teams begin when the Under-18s take on Manchester City at their Academy Stadium for a place in the final of the Premier League Cup. The youngsters battled past Liverpool in the last round, via a dramatic comeback from 2-0 down. Elsewhere, it's 11 years to the day since United beat Arsenal 4-0 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup and two years since Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his only hat-trick for the Reds in a 3-0 win over Saint-Etienne in the Europa League. 

 

 

It's United's Women's turn on Sunday, when taking on London Bees in the SSE Women's FA Cup fifth round. Stoney's side will be looking to bounce back from last week's narrow semi-final defeat to top-flight outfit Arsenal in the Continental Tyres League Cup. Meanwhile, the first team will go through a final day of preparation ahead of Monday's thrilling match-up with Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea in the FA Cup. It's also 20 years to the day since a 1-1 draw against Arsenal during our Treble-winning campaign of 1998/99.
