Your essential guide to this week at United

Monday 28 September 2020 08:50

There's plenty to look forward to this week as Manchester United prepare for another trip to Brighton, the Champions League draw and a big match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Here's our guide...

MONDAY
The players are back in Manchester reflecting on a spectacular win at Brighton and a game that had it all. It's fair to say everyone connected with the club is probably still talking about that dramatic conclusion, after Bruno Fernandes's 100th-minute penalty earned our first three points of the season.

The 49th episode of UTD Podcast will also be released around the world at 17:00 BST, starring former Reds striker and Uruguay international Diego Forlan.

TUESDAY
We will catch up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to preview our midweek game at Brighton and hopefully learn more about his team selection. The boss made 10 changes in the previous round of the Carabao Cup and looks set to shuffle his pack again.

Meanwhile, Neil Wood's Under-21s team are back in EFL Trophy action after beating Salford City 6-0 in our first group match. The boys make the short trip to League Two side Rochdale. Kick-off at the Crown Oil Arena is 19:45 BST.

WEDNESDAY
United travel to Brighton for the second time in four days as Ole's men face the Seagulls in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. The Reds were triumphant on the south coast on Sunday in the dramatic 3-2 victory and also won on the road (3-0) at Luton Town in the previous round last week. We'll have full coverage of the game on ManUtd.com, our Official App and MUTV.

THURSDAY
The first day of October is the date for the annual Champions League group-stage draw. United return to the competition following last season's third-placed finish in the Premier League. We will be in the second pot which means we can face the likes of holders Bayern Munich, Juventus or Real Madrid at this stage. There has already been a great sense of anticipation ahead of the draw, which is now due to start in Switzerland around 17:00 CET (16:00 BST).

SUNDAY
Tottenham visit Old Trafford in our second home game of the season, which starts at 16:30 BST. Solskjaer's men will be looking to keep the winning streak going after beating Luton Town and Brighton in the Carabao Cup and Premier League respectively last week. Spurs were pegged back by a controversial penalty by Newcastle United's Callum Wilson, deep into injury time, and only drew 1-1, despite dominating the game on Sunday. Jose Mourinho revealed afterwards that Son Heung-min, who was withdrawn at half-time, appears to be a major doubt for the clash with the Reds.

United Women's season resumes with a home game against Brighton (12:00 BST kick-off).
