Under-18s' Liverpool game rescheduled

Monday 13 January 2020 17:27

Manchester United's opening Under-18 Premier League fixture of 2020 has been postponed.

The game with Liverpool, scheduled for this Saturday at 11:00 GMT at the Aon Training Complex, has been rearranged for Saturday 11 April at the same venue with the same kick-off time.

The reason for the change is due to United's FA Youth Cup fourth-round tie against Norwich City, which takes place on Tuesday 21 January at Carrow Road.

Neil Ryan will be pondering his selection for the FA Youth Cup clash next week.

The clash with the Canaries, the reward for defeating Lincoln City 2-0 at Leigh Sports Village with a pair of Dillon Hoogewerf goals, will be shown live on MUTV with kick-off at 19:00 GMT.

Priority is usually given to the FA Youth Cup due to the prestigious nature of the competition and our long association with the tournament.

Consequently, United's next league action is not until next month, with an away game on 1 February at Blackburn Rovers, kicking off at 11:00 GMT.

Neil Ryan's players have recently been away in Germany, competing in two indoor tournaments - the Mercedes-Benz Junior Cup and Sparkasse & VGH Cup.
