United Briefing: Send us your Pogba questions

Tuesday 20 April 2021 08:00

We are continuing our fans' Q&A sessions with Manchester United players, with Paul Pogba next in the hot-seat.

This is your chance to get involved and have one of the most famous footballers on the planet answer any burning questions you might have for him.

Whatever the topic, let us know what you'd like our no.6 to talk about by completing the quick and easy online form.

We will pick a selection of the best questions to ask the midfielder, who has been a driving force behind the Reds' recent fine form after recovering from injury.

The Frenchman captained United to victory over Granada last week and then provided the assist for Mason Greenwood's second goal in Sunday's 3-1 win over Burnley.

Should he play in our next game, against Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United, it will be Pogba's 200th senior appearance for the club - a memorable milestone for the man who won the FA Youth Cup with the Reds a decade ago.

Pogba actually made his first-team debut against Leeds in 2011, when he came on as a substitute in a League Cup tie at Elland Road. The Reds won 3-0 thanks to a double by Michael Owen and a third by Ryan Giggs, the man Paul replaced for the second half.

Coincidentally, one of Pogba's seven first-team outings during his maiden spell with United came against a Bielsa side, as he appeared in the 2-1 defeat to Athletic Club in Bilbao in the 2011/12 Europa League.

Paul didn't score in that period - the first of his 37 goals for the club so far came in September 2016, against Leicester City, following his return in a summer transfer.

WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY?

There could be an update from the Premier League on the May fixtures as we await the schedule for the remainder of the season.

It is 64 years since we won the First Division title in 1957, when Sunderland were defeated 4-0 at Old Trafford. Liam Whelan scored twice with Duncan Edwards and Tommy Taylor also finding the net late on. It is also the second-year anniversary of our Women's team topping the FA Women's Championship and gaining promotion to the Women's Super League.

Chelsea take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the only Premier League fixture of the day (20:00 BST kick-off).

WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY?

On the subject of Pogba, he was praised by Bruno Fernandes who described his colleague as "world class" and explained what it is like to play with him and be his friend away from the pitch.

We also took a look at how Donny van de Beek's birthday was marked by his team-mates.

Our latest UTD Podcast was released, featuring former defender Paul McShane.
