Our fun new United Predictions game is back this weekend, as the Reds resume Premier League action after the international break.

Not played yet? You’ll soon pick things up – just predict the score of our forthcoming match against Newcastle, as well as starting line-up, first goalscorer and Man of the Match.

You’ll be awarded points for correct guesses – with a maximum of 125 up for grabs.

Before we make the trip to Tyneside on Saturday, we’ve crunched the numbers to help you make your choices when you download the Official App and play United Predictions before entries close at 90 minutes to kick-off.

CORRECT SCORE

The Reds lost on our last visit to Tyneside, but we’ve tapped into a rich vein of form recently away from home, having gone 16 games unbeaten since losing to Liverpool in January, winning 13 and drawing three.

Here are the results from our last five away games in all competitions, if you want to take any inspiration from past scorelines:

Won 3-0 v Brighton (Carabao Cup), 30 September
Won 3-2 v Brighton (Premier League), 26 September
Won 3-0 v Luton (Carabao Cup), 22 September
Won 2-0 v Leicester (Premier League), 26 July
Won 2-0 v Aston Villa (Premier League), 16 July

LINE-UP

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be forced to make at least one change to the line-up which faced Tottenham two weeks ago, with Anthony Martial now suspended for three league matches. As a reminder, this was our last starting XI:

De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw; Matic, Pogba; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.

Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek made appearances off the bench in that game, and will be pushing for a starting berth this time around.

While new signing Edinson Cavani is not yet available to play, Alex Telles could potentially be involved after featuring twice for Brazil during the recent break. Will you gamble on our new man playing from the off?

FIRST SCORER

The good news? United have scored in each of our five matches this season – and the run stretches to 27 if you include the 2019/20 campaign. The bad news? We’ve had a different first scorer in each encounter:

Tottenham (H) - Fernandes
Brighton (A) - McTominay
Brighton (A) – Rashford (Dunk’s own goal not counted in UP)
Luton (A) - Mata
Crystal Palace (H) – van de Beek

To make your pick, then, you might want to take the whole of 2020 into account. In the 32 matches in which the Reds have hit the net this year, Fernandes has scored our first on 10 occasions. Will you pick the Portuguese magnifico this time around?

MAN OF THE MATCH

Three Reds have claimed this particular prize so far this season, with van de Beek and Juan Mata being nominated for their performances in the Carabao Cup and Fernandes winning the vote after the dramatic late victory over Brighton in the Premier League.

Mason Greenwood (eight) and Marcus Rashford (six) won 14 Man-of-the-Match awards between them during the 2019/20 season, and have a good chance of featuring – will you choose one of the homegrown pair?
