Watford v United: The essential info

Friday 20 December 2019 07:00

Manchester United’s final Premier League game before Christmas sees us make the trip down to Vicarage Road to face Watford.

The Hornets have recently appointed former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson as their new manager and will be hoping for a festive flourish after a difficult start to the season which has seen them pick up just one win from 17 so far.

Here’s the key information ahead of our visit to Hertfordshire…

HOW CAN I FOLLOW THE GAME?

The match, which kicks off at 14:00 GMT, will be broadcast on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event in the UK. MUTV subscribers will be able to watch live dedicated build-up to the game in the Match Day show from 12:30 GMT, followed by live radio commentary. You can also follow our coverage on ManUtd.com and the Official App, where you can track live data and player statistics in the Match Centre.

Sunday 22 December | Premier League | Vicarage Road | 14:00 GMT | Live build-up on MUTV from 12:30 GMT | Referee: Lee Mason

WHO’S THE REFEREE?

Lee Mason will officiate Sunday’s match. The 48-year-old is one of the Premier League’s most experienced referees, and has taken charge of plenty of United fixtures in the past, although none since the 1-1 draw at Huddersfield towards the end of the 2018/19 season. Mason will be assisted by linesmen Scott Ledger and Simon Long, with Graham Scott as fourth official. Martin Atkinson is in charge of the VAR at Stockley Park, and he will be helped by Stephen Child.

RIVALS WATCH

There is a feast of festive fixtures on the cards in the Premier League this weekend, with the most mouthwatering involving second-placed Leicester City’s trip to the Etihad Stadium. Jose Mourinho takes on former club Chelsea with Tottenham on Sunday in another huge clash, while managerless Everton and Arsenal go head-to-head on Saturday lunchtime to kick things off. Liverpool’s involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup means their trip to West Ham has been postponed.
