When are our internationals in action?

Initially, 13 Reds were called up by their countries but that number has been reduced to 11 by the withdrawals of Nemanja Matic from Serbia's squad and Luke Shaw from the England camp. Both players are injured and have returned to the Aon Training Complex for rehabilitation work with United's medical staff.

As was the case last month, all of the European nations will be competing in the UEFA Nations League between October 11 and 16, while the further-afield countries will be involved in friendlies during the same period.

ARGENTINA: Sergio Romero will be the Reds' sole representative in the Argentina squad as Marcos Rojo remains on the injured list at United. The South American nation will play both of their fixtures in Saudi Arabia, first against Iraq and then against Brazil.

BELGIUM: Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini are again called up to Roberto Martinez's squad. The third-placed side in this year's World Cup will host Switzerland in the Nations League before entertaining the Netherlands in a friendly.

CHILE: Alexis is back in the Chile squad after missing September's international friendlies for rest and recuperation. United's no.7 could add to his 120 caps when his side face Peru in Miami Gardens, USA before facing Mexico away in Querétaro.

BRAZIL: After making his 10th appearance for Brazil last month, Fred has again been selected for his national squad. The midfielder will travel to Saudi Arabia for two friendly matches - one against the host nation and then an all-South American affair against Argentina, in which he could meet his United team-mate Romero.

ENGLAND: Luke Shaw's enforced exit on Monday evening leaves Marcus Rashford as the only Reds star in the senior England ranks this month. The Mancunian striker scored the opening goal past David De Gea in a 2-1 loss to Spain in September and will be hoping for a similar personal performance, plus better results for the team, when Gareth Southgate's side travel to Croatia before taking on the Spaniards again in Sevilla.

FRANCE: 2018 Ballon d'Or nominee Paul Pogba is in Didier Deschamps' France squad. The United midfielder and his World Cup-winning team-mates will host Iceland in a friendly before welcoming former world champions Germany to the Stade de France in the UEFA Nations League.

IVORY COAST: Eric Bailly is expected to play for Ivory Coast in their two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Central African Republic, at home on Friday and away on Tuesday.

SCOTLAND: United youngster Scott McTominay has received another call-up to the Scotland squad. Alex McLeish's Tartan Army travel to Israel for their second game of their UEFA Nations League campaign before hosting Portugal in a friendly at Hampden Park.

SPAIN: David De Gea and his Spanish team-mates will face Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium in a friendly before facing Rashford and company for the second time this season, as they host England i Sevilla.

SWEDEN: Victor Lindelof has once again been selected to represent Sweden. The Scandinavians will travel to the Kaliningrad Stadium to face Russia in a Nations League tie, before hosting Turkey in a friendly.
