Harvey Neville is one of many Manchester United youngsters who have been called up for under-age internationals over the coming week.

The teenage full-back – who is the son of former Red Phil – has been named in the Republic of Ireland Under-19 squad for the first time for two upcoming friendlies against Denmark.

“Half the family are Irish, half are English, my wife's side are all Irish,” Phil explained after England Women’s friendly win over Portugal on Tuesday.

“I look forward to watching him play on Friday against Denmark and I'll be a super proud dad.”

Matej Kovar, who signed a new contract with the Reds earlier this week, is a member of the Czech Republic Under-21 squad for home qualifiers against Greece and Scotland, while Dylan Levitt will represent Wales in the same age group; they travel to Moldova for a Friday night fixture.

Dylan Levitt is among the Wales Under-21 contingent for their trip to Moldova.

Ethan Galbraith made his full debut for Northern Ireland in September and will aim to draw on that experience for a tough-looking couple of fixtures for the Under-21s, in Denmark and Romania.

There were a raft of call-ups at Under-19 level, as qualification for next summer’s European Championship gets under way for many nations. However, some of the young Reds have been forced to withdraw from those squads for various reasons.

However, Ondrej Mastny and Iestyn Hughes were on standby for Czech Republic and Wales Under-19s respectively, with keeper Mastny since promoted to the squad.

Dillon Hoogewerf (the Netherlands) and Charlie Savage (Wales) will test their mettle at Under-17s level this week, with the two sides going up against each other. The Dutch also play Kosovo and Slovenia.

Hannibal Mejbri has received a France Under-17 call-up to a tournament in Cyprus, which features Gibraltar and Slovakia as well as the host nation.

James Garner has got the nod from England Under-19 boss Paul Simpson.

Although Mason Greenwood was forced to pull out of the England Under-21 squad with injury, United are still represented in several Three Lions’ age groups.

Angel Gomes and Brandon Williams have been selected for Under-20s matches against Italy (Thursday) and Czech Republic (Monday) and James Garner is with the Under-19s for the International Marbella Cup.

Teden Mengi could play three fixtures with the Under-18s, with games against Poland, Slovakia and Austria on the horizon, while fellow centre-back Will Fish has been called up to the Under-17s for the first time – they play Germany twice, and Spain.
