Supporting our Communities - #OneHCL

To give back to our extended ecosystem across communities we operate in worldwide, we've committed medical equipment support to local administrations, contributed PPEs for frontline healthcare workers, provided free daily meals for the most vulnerable, initiated awareness generation drives for at-risk, marginalised groups, and supported local authorities with crisis communication control rooms to respond to citizen queries with credible information.

The Better Health Hackathon - #CodeForCOVID19

Technology has risen to the occasion to keep us together, in a time of social distancing and unprecedented uncertainty, disruption, and isolation. Innovative solutions have proven that we can remain connected, productive, informed, and empowered while staying physically apart. Modern technologies are further empowering the heroic efforts of first responders, healthcare workers, researchers, experts, and essential workers who continue to hold things together, protecting the most vulnerable, and seek solutions to help the world get better, and emerge stronger.

Technology has stepped up not only to do good, but to do better. And better solutions aren’t born in isolation but out of great collaboration.

HCL presents the Better Health Hackathon: #CodeForCovid19 to crowdsource tangible tech solutions to help drive better outcomes for us all, by engaging a global community of passionate, purpose-driven innovators and problem solvers, in collaboration with experts and thought leaders from technology, healthcare, academia and industry partners.

The Hackathon invites ideas across broad themes of the ongoing crisis to provide immediate and lasting impact, for current and long-term pandemic-related challenges. #CodeForCovid19 is open for participation till the end of July culminating with a virtual presentation of the best projects shortlisted, with winning teams (as determined by an elite judging panel of experts) taking home a total of $ 50,000 in prizes and other exclusive rewards.

HCL is proud to have Manchester United be a part of the Better Health Hackathon. Together we’re looking for creative ways United can enable fans to be immersed in shared viewing experiences (similar to the #ILOVEUNITED series of global fan engagement activations) retaining the same sense of community, and ability to engage with club legends and partner brands as in the physical event format.

Join the global collaboration here – register, form a team with fellow participants on the platform and compete for the grand prize while helping build a better tomorrow.
