Signed in January 2016 from New York Red Bulls, the American defender received international clearance to represent the Reds a couple of months later.
Once the move was processed, he made his debut for the Under-18s in a 2-1 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at Altrincham's J. Davidson Stadium. An international call-up with USA Under-19s followed and he has now represented his country at senior level, the proud moment arriving against Bolivia in May 2018. Olosunde was on the bench for the final Under-21 game of his first season in England at Chelsea and made four starts in total at Under-18 level. In 2016/17, he really kicked on in the Reserves and ended up nailing down a place at right-back. Showing real attacking verve towards the end of a difficult campaign, he even travelled with the first team for the Premier League games at Arsenal and Tottenham. During Ricky Sbragia’s first term back as Under-23s coach, Olosunde managed 12 outings at that level and usually performs at full-back, although he is also capable of appearing at centre half and further up the field.

“I was playing international football for the United States when I was asked to come over on trial. It was just a case of 'wow'. I was taken aback and was speechless.”
"Antonio Valencia is a real inspiration. I really look up to him. When I watch him play, I appreciate he's a great player and a great marking point to reach for."
