Taking up a position formerly held by ex-Hull City colleague Paul McShane, the midfielder will be able to pass on his vast experience during in-game situations, in addition to coaching the youngsters. An elegant footballer, he emerged as a classy performer with real potential at Derby County, before moving to Tottenham in 2005. Although he had a loan spell at Wolves, he remained at White Hart Lane for eight years, before switching to Hull. A return to a club where he had played youth football, Derby County, preceded a second stint with the Tigers and he won four caps for England during his career.
