Bruno: We aren't satisfied with a point
TranscriptWatch as our Portuguese magnifico analyses the team's performance, Paul Pogba's impact and his nerveless penalty...
Q: Bruno are you satisfied with a point or are you disappointed we didn’t get all three? “No, you can’t be satisfied. You need to fight every time to win the games to take the three points. It doesn’t matter if you play against Tottenham which are a good team, but we need to look to the three points every time we play.” Q: In the second half we dominated the game. Did you feel that we were going to go on and win it in the end? “I feel we dominated the whole game, you know. They didn’t create a lot of chances. Maybe in the first half also us we didn’t create a lot, but obviously in the second half we had a lot of chances, but they defended well. They have qualities, their counter is very strong, so we had to be ready to play, but also ready to run back because they are really good on the counter. They have fast players, quality players but I think our game I think we did very well. Q: Paul Pogba came on, a great bit of skill to win the penalty. “Paul is, like I said before, Paul is one of the best players, so when he’s on the game he’s really good. I think he was injured for a long time, so it’s difficult also to come in in the game, because it was a high level of intensity, but he came in very well. He did very well and I think he can do much more for us because he has a lot of quality.” Q: You scored the penalty and then we thought you were going to get another one right at the end as well. What was your view of that? “I don’t know, because he touched me, I felt the touch, but OK, VAR is here to help, we need to understand the point of view of the referee, or the referees who are in the VAR, so it doesn’t matter now. The game is finished, so we need to look forward for the next game which is really, really difficult.” Q: And the unbeaten run continues and Tottenham don’t get any closer to you in terms of the top four, so important was this point in the end do you think? “It’s important, because you were due a point, but it’s better like I said before if we did get the three points. We want to take closer from the guys who are in front of us and don’t look for the guys who are on our back. Obviously we need to be focused on what they do, but we need to maybe find a way to catch the guys who are in front.” Q: Finally, did you miss the fans? “Of course. It doesn’t matter if you play at home or away, the atmosphere in football is part of the game, so you miss a lot. For us we miss a lot our fans for sure, but I think they are happy. Not happy like us, but we keep trying, we keep trying to improve, we look forward and try to catch the three points in the next game for them.
