Bruno: I think we did everything well today

Transcript

Fernandes has shared his thoughts with MUTV after the Reds' 4-0 win over Real Sociedad...

Transcript

Bruno, is that almost the perfect away performance in Europe?

“I think it’s perfect. The result is really good for us, 4-0. But still, we have another game to play. Their team is really good, they have got quality. The result can get some people to think it was an easy game but it was not. They played well. The chances we got, we scored. We had more chances to score but we didn’t. It’s a good result for us but we have a second leg to play.

Does the quality of the opposition show how good this result is? This was probably hard a draw as we could have.

“I think yes. This is one of the worst teams to play against because they are really good. The worst in a good way because they play well, they have individual quality and as a team. They have a really good idea of football but luckily for us, the mentality today was on top. We had the right focus, we did the right things. Now the next step is to keep this confidence, keep the performance, and keep doing the right things in the next game.”

It was a fluid performance, a lot of high pressing. Was that the game plan?

“We played the game in a lot of ways. In a football game, we have lot of things to do, sometimes press high, drop a little bit and when you have the ball you have to understand what you can do well to enjoy your football and to try to get your goals. I think we did everything well today. We did what we worked [on] and the result is here. We have to focus again, work, work and work and keep working to get these kinds of results.”

How are you feeling at the moment? That’s 21 goals already. How do you feel about your own form?

“I feel good, I feel good. Most important for me will be the trophies at the end of the season. People might be tired of me saying that but I prefer to don’t score any more goals until the end of the season if we the trophies. Of course, I want to score every game, I want to assist every game, I want to win every game. At the end of everything, it’s the trophies we are about. We talk about trophies every time and we know, for this club, we have to win trophies. It’s not good enough to be in the competitions and not win.”
