Rashford's verdict as United captain
"We have to go there, score goals and win - I think we are capable of doing it," says a bullish Marcus Rashford...
What's your verdict? “It is obviously disappointing to lose the game. The first half was nowhere near good enough. The second half was a little bit better and a bit more like ourselves. Tonight we weren't good enough to win the game. Now we just have to focus on Norwich and if we can get a win there it will put us in good stead for the next game.” How did it feel to captain the team, albeit in difficult circumstances in the end? “It is obviously a nice feeling, but at the end of the day it is the result that matters and we didn't manage to get the win. But we will look ahead now to the next game, put this one behind us and go again.” Has your goal given us some hope in the tie? "For me, not the goal. David made three or four world-class saves and that is the reason why we are still in the tie. We have to understand that. That is the reason why we are still in the tie and we need to understand what we need to improve on. They changed a little bit from the last time we played against them and maybe we had to adapt a little bit more on the pitch as players, and just try to control the game a little bit more. It is tough against them, they are a good team, but we expect more from ourselves.” Do we need to produce a comeback like PSG from last season? “It is a different game with different players, but what we found in Paris we have to find that within us again. We have to go there, score goals and win the game. I think we are capable of doing it. But let's just focus on Norwich for now and hopefully we can put this result behind us to bring the positivity back.” On Saturday you'll make your 200th United appearance, which must be a big moment for you? “To be honest, the games have all come thick and fast. You don't notice the numbers going up so much. It is my 200th game and obviously it is going to be a good night for me. It is definitely a proud moment to play 200 games for this club. But if we don't get the three points then for me it doesn't mean a thing. We have to make sure that we win the game and put on a positive performance.”
