Greenwood: That's what I've been working on
It's fair to say Mason was pleased to score our late winner, against the Seagulls...
“It was very important. We played well, defended well and obviously to get the winner means a lot to me." What do you remember from the winner? It looked like it might be cleared off the line but luckily it didn’t... “I didn’t really see after the header, I just saw after it went in the back of the net to see if it was my goal, I knew it was my goal. I’m happy to score a header, I’ve been working on them all season in training and I’m happy one came off today.” When you said you had been working on that, is that a part of the game where you have tried to improve? “Yeah, it was one of my weaknesses I’d say. To be a striker and an attacker you've got to be able to do it all and that was one area where I was weak on. With practising and help from the coaching staff it’s obviously strengthened now and I’m bringing it on to the pitch.” Brighton made it difficult for you and chances were hard to create but Marcus with a fine finish to get us back, passed it in... “Yeah, it was a good finish, nice and placed. And obviously Bruno with the assist, we know what he can do week in, week out and Marcus, we had no doubt, it was an excellent finish into the corner." That’s 25 points from losing positions which says a lot about the determination to get back? “Yeah, it says a lot. We don’t want to go behind first but if you do that it’s all about the three points at the end of the day. We need to work on the defensive areas and stuff.” You obviously scored against Leicester, scored again now. Do you feel… “Yeah, I’m getting back into the zone really. It’s somewhere I wanted to be earlier in the season but it’s come now. I’ve kept my head down and just concentrated, worked off-scenes in training and I’m happy it’s coming onto the pitch now." We’re in the sort of final straight of the season now, some big games coming up, Europe again Thursday, some important league games. How important was it to get that run off to a winning start? "Coming back after the international break, it’s always good to get a win and obviously it’s a spring in our step."
