Matic: I'm sure we'll learn from this
TranscriptNemanja is experienced enough to know that defeats can happen. The key, as he says, is to learn from them...
Does a disappointing result feel worse for you because it's your former club? "I'm already three years at Man United, so for me every game is special when I have to play, especially at Wembley, it doesn't matter against who. Of course there is always some feelings when we play against Chelsea because it is my ex-club. So we are disappointed of course, because we lost. We wanted to get to the final, but Chelsea scored three goals, they used their chances and deserved to be in the final, so our focus is on Wednesday against West Ham, where we have to win that game to be in the Champions League. So, from this moment, we will focus on that and we've already spoke a little bit in the changing room about that, so in three days we have another challenge and we have to recover as soon as possible." How difficult is it to take the disappointment of a result like today and get so focused on something that's coming so soon? "That's football. Every three days we play, so we have to of course analyse this game in the next meeting for sure, but all our focus needs to be on West Ham on Wednesday. So, it's going quick, it's going quick and our target is to be in the top four and we will do our best." Looking further ahead, there's still the Europa League to get a chance of some silverware this season. Will you be hoping that's a competition you can win? "Of course. We always want to win and that's exactly what we tried today, but this is football. You don't win always, sometimes you don't have your day, you don't play well and this can happen, but we know what we are playing for, so in the future we cannot allow to concede three goals like we conceded today and I am sure we will learn from this."
