Ole's opinion on the Palace defeat
Watch as Solskjaer explains his opinion on the performance, result and notable incidents...
That must be hard to take today? "Yeah, definitely. First, that was poor. The first half an hour you're feeling you're controlling it and maybe it seems to easy. We didn't really have that zip and urgency about us and they score on the first chance. Just a long kick, it should never happen, that's poor defending. But second half, I thought we were excellent. Pressing, pushing, creating chances, just not scoring. We didn't have that midas touch today." I suppose the last thing you want to do is concede against them, because they can put everybody behind the ball, hard to break down. "Yeah, they did that anyway and we know they were going to come here to defend well and counterattack and they are a threat. They've got pace up front, they've got quality up front and they had three chances, two goals. They shouldn't really be chances, really, two of them." We eventually got a penalty. "There were a few others, definitely." Hits the inside of the post then ricochets behind. Are you starting to scratch your head? "Fine margins, isn't it? We're disappointed of course that we didn't win the game and I'm sure Marcus will look at his penalty again, but he'll definitely step up again and score." It was a super goal by Dan right at the end? "Yeah. Good attack. Well done Paul, winning the ball back, going forward. Great finish, top corner. Then from the last five minutes we should have managed them better, because Anthony was injured. He was hobbling around, so he couldn't really give us anything, so we played with 10 men. Maybe we should have played a few more passes. Maybe they could have come at us, but that happens. They scored a good goal." Is there word on Anthony or Luke who seemed to go off with an injury? "We'll have to wait and see. Hopefully they won't be too bad and maybe we can have them training during the week." It is a case of how you respond to this disappointment? It's a long week now until the Southampton game? "The last two were disappointments, because Wolverhampton you feel we deserved to win, today we deserved to win, but you don't always get what you deserve in football and we have to make sure we go to Southampton with the bit between our teeth and play better, score goals and win the game."
