Solskjaer: The attitude and desire is there
Ole provides us with his verdict on the outcome, McTominay's wonderful goal and Arsenal's much-discussed equaliser...
Q: Fast and furious stuff, but what did you make of the result? "Probably a deserved point for each. Both wanted to win, no team deserved it more than the other. A positive start, positive attitude, desire. Now we've got to learn to make these 1-0s into 2-0s, 3-0s, 4-0s even, we need a second goal. We can't just the brake on like we did in the second half and let the other team come in. Southampton, Wolverhampton, now, we're getting the first goal and now the next one. Q: Absolute classic goal from McTominay. "Yeah, a great strike, a great counterattack first. We showed the legs, the pace, a great strike by Scotty. I've never hit a ball like this." Q: He's becoming an important part of PL line-up? "He's playing well. He's learning. He's one of the six Academy boys that started the game today, Mason came on. That's a great plus for us and something we're proud of and Scotty will be better and better for this period." Q: The equaliser. The flag was up erroneously. Did it have an impact? "I don't think so. To be fair, Ashley probably when that hand goes up he probably stops his run. He could have, should have, tried to block that shot, which maybe could have done something. So yeah, when I get a few seconds to think about it, he should wait to get that flag up." Q: Plenty of opportunities after that. Some good attacking play, just no second goal? "You thought it was going to be one of those nights. Floodlights, Stretford End suck that ball in, we'll get that win. Didn't happen, but the attitude and desire is there and the signs are there for us as coaches to see. That's a team with loads of belief and we just need to learn finish games off in a better manner when we're winning 1-0."
