Ole: Shaw getting better and better
TranscriptThe boss on Luke, Odion Ighalo and a job well done at Derby...
Q: Overall Ole a job well done tonight? OGS: Well in the cup it's all about going through to the next round. Even though you're favourites you never know before the game is played and we did a job. Q: Luke Shaw got a rare goal and set up Odion as well. What about Luke's performances at the moment? OGS: He's getting better and better, improving. Of course he's had his injury early on in the season, but he's come back really strong and fit and confident. It's good to see for us. Q: I know you like predatory strikers. A couple of goals tonight that you probably would have liked. OGS: I probably would have scored, you mean? [laughs] I thought that was what you were going to say, but yeah, I liked them. Odion is a box striker, always sniffing out chances. Every game he's played he's getting chances, so I'm delighted with his two goals tonight. Q: Wayne was seraneded by the United fans in the second half. OGS: How good were they tonight? It was fantastic. Sometimes when you go to these away grounds and you hear the fans it's humbling for us, because they do support the club in thick and thin. We've had a tough ride this season. We feel we're coming through it and they're showing their appreciation, so fantastic tonight. Q: Seven times on the spin in the FA Cup we've been drawn away. Away again at the quarter-finals, but clearly a chance to get to Wembley. OGS: Well one more game now and you're at Wembley. We need to think about City first, then we've got LASK, then we've got Tottenham, then it's LASK again and then we get to the FA Cup, so there's loads of games until then. Q: You read out that fixture list there and they're all exciting games aren't they? It's that time of the season, every game seems so significant? OGS: Yeah and it was great today that some players got their chance and played well. They took their chance and we've got a strong squad to pick from and I'll have to, because we've got so many games.
