Ole praises Greenwood and Astana's keeper
The boss discusses Mason Greenwood, Astana's in-form goalkeeper and Sunday's trip to West Ham in our interview...
Did we see Mason's finishing prowess? "Yeah it is a very good finish, through the legs of the goalkeeper, which are most of the time open. Their keeper played a fantastic game to be honest and it had to be something special to score." To show that composure is quite something... "He is a natural, he is a natural finisher. He is confident in front of goal. He is able to go inside and finish with his left, as we saw in the first half. In the second half, he went with his right. It is a great attribute to have. He is not 50/50 - I think he is more like 60/60, because he is better than 100 per cent." When their keeper is making so many saves, do Astana grow in confidence? "Yes, definitely, and maybe our players start to think twice about what would come naturally. If you are 1-0 up then everything just flows and just happens by itself. We didn't make some of the best decisions at times, with the cross, the last pass and some of the finishes, but the keeper played really well." The players needed minutes tonight... "I didn't make it easy for them, because with so many changes - at the same time it makes it hard for them. We had it last year when I came in, with the FA Cup game against Reading. We knew that. We've had a couple of games behind closed doors but, yes, it is different at Old Trafford in front of fans who cheer you on and want you to do well. They will come out better for it and, next week, against Rochdale, we will see a very similar team as well." Finally, is it tricky now to make the trip to London for West Ham? "No not at all, we have prepared for that game already this week. We've had our eyes on two games and two games that we are looking forward to. Tomorrow will be a recovery day for everyone and Saturday is a preparation day, so we are set for that."
