Solskjaer's verdict on Wolves 0 United 0
Ole discusses a potential penalty, praises Sergio Romero and gives an update on Harry Maguire in our interview...
What’s your verdict? “We were hoping to go through tonight but we're still in it. An even game, a game like we expected really I felt like we dominated first half, possession wise. We played some decent stuff but didn't create the openings and chances. They had one massive chance, a great save from Sergio and a couple of instances but second half we were let off the hook when he mistimes his header and he hits his arm. We also created chances, Juan unlucky with his free-kick. Marcus, that shot normally goes in its unlucky, hits the boy and hits the crossbar.” Just a word on Romero, another clean sheet. That really was a top class save in the first-half wasn't it? “His positioning, his experience: he is great to have behind the back four. He breathes confidence. Of course, players when they've got him behind them they're confident and it's fantastic for me to call upon him when David needs a rest.” Did you think there was a possibility of a penalty? “I think it's a pen. I think it is. Brandon's on the ball, the other lad catches his foot. Maybe from the other side, but it could have been. But it's margins, that's the game. You can't say it was a clear and obvious mistake, so it’s definitely not something you want VAR to correct.” Juan came close Marcus first touch nearly scored? “Well it was his third. He could have scored with his first or second but his first touch didn't really set him up for the finish. He had to take another one and then Coady managed to get back and it's just margins. That's unlucky and we're close but OK we take a replay at home.” Harry Maguire seemed to be moving with difficulty. Is that an issue for you for the week ahead? “It might be. We were not sure if he should continue second half but he was adamant he was going to be OK. He struggled a little bit but let's see how he'll recover. It's not many days, it's Sunday Monday then we go again Tuesday.” Playing in big games shows you're doing well, the more the better but lack of preparation must be an issue? “Yes, but we're in a phase of a season where we know how we want to play but it's just about recovery really. We need that time to prepare tactically. I think we're ready tactically for these games and we can tweak things on the board and in the meeting rooms and it's just about having fresh minds and fresh legs.”
