Solskjaer's pre-match interview

Transcript

The boss explains why he's decided to rotate the line-up, with Daniel James one of five changes...

Transcript

Five changes today, is this the sort of thing you’re going to need to do when there’s games every two or three days?

“I think so. Sometimes it’s players who suit different opposition but also the rotation, it has to happen because of all the games we’ve played, with the physical strain and preparation times in between.”

And Daniel James gets a chance against the club he almost joined before United. So it’s a special afternoon for him too?

“Yeah of course, he’s worked really hard. We know his qualities and I think today his qualities will be very valuable. We’ve found a role for him to play tonight and I think it’s going to work out well.”

Leeds United always play the same way. Are you expecting it to be an open, entertaining game?

“I hope it’s going to be entertaining for us. They have a certain style, very physical, loads of running and set patterns. Defensively, with the man marking it’s a little bit different. We’re prepared for different scenarios but if you go back a year and a half we played them in Australia in pre-season and even back then you could see the clear patterns. He’s one of the most exciting coaches, to watch his teams. I remember his Bilbao team. They’re all so physical. They run until they can’t run anymore and I have to say I admire his style of coaching and management. That’s what he demands of his players.”
