Ole's post-match thoughts
The boss spoke about a potential new role for Axel Tuanzebe after the 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad...
Ole, safely through to the draw. I suppose that's all that matters... It’s a good workout for a few of course, so we should be pleased because they’re a good team, a very good team and I think we saw that tonight. Normally when you’re 4-0 up it’s hard to get going really. It looked it. We needed that wake-up call of their penalty, but after that I felt we took over the first half. The second half was more slower. The match situation meant you could make changes at half-time and make sure there were no problems with players… Yes three came off. Fred came off, he had a booking so I didn’t want to take a chance with him. It’s about getting through the round. 4-0 away from home and we kept another clean sheet. Well done! I suppose when the draw came through, you’d have taken 4-0 on aggregate wouldn’t you? Of course yeah, then again we wanted to perform better tonight. We wanted to score goals. Our goal can be discussed. It’s a foul against Victor but I don’t know if its actually influenced the actual goal. I don’t know about the ins and outs of that one. We’re through and that’s it. Axel played in that midfield role. With injuries is that an option for you? Of course, that’s why he played there. It’s one of those positions now we suddenly have Scott, Donny and Paul out. We’ve been really well off before and now we might have to look at options because I’m not sure if any will be available. Paul’s definitely not I don’t know about Donny or Scott. Dan came off. Did he get a kick or? No, he had a tweak. With the intensity he works at he felt something, so we hope it’s not really serious. It gave Amad a chance to have half an hour-ish. Good for him and Shola got a little bit longer [than the weekend]… They need to get a few minutes to feel the tempo. They [Real Sociedad] are aggressive. They give you time or space so the minutes they got tonight will stand them in good stead. Through to the last 16. I think Molde are through, aren’t they? They’re through yeah. Fantastic performance: I saw the result just before our game and that’s exceptional. A Norwegian team in February with no pre-season matches, nothing. I spoke to Erling [Moe] this morning, the coach, and they had loads of injuries as well, so well done. Let’s hope we get them! It’ll be difficult though.
