Ole explains his team selection
Hear from Solskjaer as Eric Bailly starts in place of Victor Lindelof at centre-back…
Ole, Eric Bailly in the side for Victor, does he deserve his chance after some good performances in the League Cup? There was a tactical reason for it as well, but Eric has played really well in the two games he’s played. He’s deserved it in that respect. Him and Victor played really well down at Brighton on Wednesday. It was a toss-up between them, but we gave Eric the chance today. After those three games since losing here to Palace are you expecting United to be more like our old selves today? Yeah and we need it too. I can’t say we got caught off-guard, but the first game was too early for us. Now we’ve had two weeks of games and training together as a group so we should be ready. We should get the tempo from the start, we should be able to get in amongst them and we should be able to create chances. Important to go into a two-week break with a good result under your belt. Feels like a long time otherwise, doesn’t it? Yeah and it’s the second international break since we’ve started. It’s going to be a difficult period for us coaches. We’ve got 10 or 11 players here so we’re going to work with them but we’ll determine the mood with a win today. Then we’ll have had four good games after the disappointing first one.
