Ole: We're confident and motivated for derby day
The boss began his press conference by discussing how confident and motivated United feel ahead of derby day...
We're all up for the derby "Manchester derbies are always special, special games of course, but you can't say it matters more [to the team]. Yeah, it means more for the fans of course, and we're up for it, the fans are up for it, they were fantastic at home and I'm sure we'll hear them on Saturday as well." We are mentally and physically ready "Confidence is a strange thing in football, sometimes. You can get performances and results like we had on Wednesday night and it boosted so much, and I know our boys will be up for it. Energy-wise, we should be fine. They're young and even with the 24 hours or less of recovery time that we've got, that shouldn't matter, because you'll go on adrenaline." What we've done since Wednesday "Yesterday was just a recovery day and everyone was tired. Today is just another preparation day and we still haven't had that session, so we should talk to you after training instead maybe. But I expect them to have had a good night of sleep and their smiles are back on their faces." We all want to build on the Spurs win "We're going away against arguably the best team in England, so of course it's going to be a difficult game. We need consistency. I said it before the Tottenham game, this is a chance for everyone to turn that doubt into belief and for us, if we can manage to get another performance, with the confidence, the way we played against Tottenham, if we can do that at the Etihad I'm sure we can come out of it with a result. I know that people ask 'why do you not get better results in other games', but the Premier League is hard. It's difficult. No matter who you play, it's margins. I think it's a compliment to the league. OK, you've got City and Liverpool ahead and Leicester, they've been really consistent, but the other games have been really tight."
