Ole: They run, they run, they run!

Transcript

Solskjaer was particularly impressed with the performances of two Reds, during our 6-2 win...

Transcript

"The effort they put in today, the boys, all the running they had to do, the closing down, and the moving to get away from our markers, with our fans in the stadium it would have been even easier for them."

How nice for you not to have to make a comeback, being 2-0 up early on?

"It was a brilliant start. Great two goals by Scott. The way we approached the game of course, we've shown them videos and analysed [Leeds] and they were wide-eyed, the boys, when they saw the clips we showed them. The spaces that can appear, or not appear if we don't do the work. They did the work, spot on."

You mentioned Scott there. It was a team performance but a word about him, not just for his goals but the way he drove through midfield for 90 minutes...

"He's one of those boys, both him and Fred, they never stop. They run, they run, they run. We knew that it was going to be a game for fitness and physicality and excellent performances."

How is Scott?

"I'm not sure. It looks like a groin issue so let's see."

But at 4-1 and indeed 6-1 Leeds played the same way...

"Yes they don't stop. 4-0 up, 4-0 down, it doesn't matter. 6-1, it doesn't matter. They make you run until the end and fight until the end and you have to concentrate. They create chances. It could have been 12-4 easily. We could have doubled and they could have doubled their goals. That just says everything about the attitude these two teams have for football and it should be this way."

The goals have taken us above Everton on goal difference so those goals might turn out to be important...

"Sometimes they have shown and proven, unfortunately, to be very important goals. When you add up in the end, you never give a goal away or you never stop trying for another one so let's see at the end. But we're improving, getting better, getting fitter, getting stronger. There are some details we need to improve on but we'll get there.

Six wins from seven so the form going into this mad busy spell...

"Yes we are getting fit. We have a big squad, a strong squad. We knew that we had to catch up a little bit but now we are capable of matching Leeds in a game like this."
