Ole: It's been a good week

Transcript

After two league wins and an away draw in Europe, the boss is pleased with how we've performed after the winter break...

Transcript

OGS: I’m very happy, it’s been a very good week overall. Obviously two wins in the league and we’ve got an away goal and score draw in Europe, so very pleased with everyone after the good break we’ve had, because that was an important week in Marbella building team spirit, camaraderie, some understanding between players and it’s working.

Q: And Old Trafford has taken Bruno Fernandes to their hearts very quickly as well, not just his goal today, but his overall performance.

OGS: Who wouldn’t? He’s a footballer. He loves playing football, he wants the ball, he’s got the personality and character to demand it all the time, wanting to take the penalty, takes it the way he does it show he is a Man United character – not just a very, very good footballer.

Q: You mentioned personality, is that an important thing for a player when they sign for this club?

OGS: Yeah. Without the personality you have no chance at this club and that’s the biggest thing. I’ve seen very, very many talented players not really have the character and personality. He’s got it.

Q: 15 goals for Martial as well. What a finish. It was sublime wasn’t it?

OGS: Yeah, he’s so skilful, Anthony. I’d thought he’d ran offside, but the timing from Bruno’s pass was perfect and the skill there is just incredible. He does that in training, so you’re not that surprised.

Q: Talk about not being surprised, but there’s no holding back Mason at the moment. That was such a thrilling goal.

OGS: Yeah, he’s young kid learning his trade, learning to play against men, but he’s always been a goalscorer and he’ll never lose that, because that is the moment and most difficult thing in football, but he’s got it. You just know when he’s got chances he’s going to create half a yard to get a finish and he’s going to hit the target and I’m very pleased with his performance.

Q: Just a word on Dan James today as well. He looked fresh again. He had played lot of football.

OGS: Yeah, he’s had a couple of games where he’s not played. He’s had a break now and we want him on the touchline taking people on, running in behind, mixing up his football and today was Dan more or less at his best.

Q: Moving in towards the top four now. Three points in it now. It’s going to be an exciting battle in the remaining 11 games.

OGS: Loads of important games to go. Next week of course Everton, then you’ve got City, then you’ve got Tottenham, so the next three league games are very important for us, so we’ve got to keep our feet on the ground, focus on the games, but then there’s Europe as well. We want to go through, so all eyes on Thursday now.
