Solskjaer explains the starting XI v PSG
In our interview to discuss the team news, Ole admits he always wanted Cavani to face his former club...
Can you tell us your thinking behind the three changes? “We know that we play against a good team and we’ve got some fresh legs out there with Scott, he’s just got back from his injury. Anthony was supposed to play against Southampton and he’s looking sharp again. With Edinson and the impact he made… it was always the case really for me, I look at the this game with Edinson up front, but he had to play 45 minutes on Sunday as well.” You are getting some pace around Cavani - it looks an attacking side... “It’s a similar set-up to the Istanbul game of course. We found a good balance there and we’re playing against a team with some individual attacking players that you don’t really see very often. We have to defend well as a team. We have to make sure we’re compact and of course, don’t give them any counter-attacks with the pace they have up front. But if we’re good on the ball we should be creating chances.” Are these the nights that give you butterflies? “Champions League nights, I think everyone when they were kids wanted to play against the best players and the best teams in the world. At Old Trafford, there’s no better stage. It’s just too bad that we can’t have the support the players deserve.”
