Solskjaer explains the squad v Tottenham
Watch as we speak to the manager about the starting XI and why Daniel James is missing...
Was it just a case of freshening the team up? “Well freshen it up but also keep doing the same things that we have done. Also, Dan had an injury from Thursday night, so he couldn’t be with us. Mason has also had some niggles, so we gave him a rest from the start.” How is everyone from Thursday? “I think everyone is fine; we didn’t do a lot on the training pitch. We have had meetings, but rest and recovery is the name of the game when you don’t come back until 1am on Friday morning. We’ll be ready.” What type of game are you expecting? “It’ll be the game that we make it. A goal can change the atmosphere and change the life of any game. We want to go out and hopefully dominate possession, create chances and defend well because we know that their front four or five, with their full-backs flying forward, are dangerous. They’ll be hard to stop, but you have to do that properly but then attack quickly when you get spaces, but also have good possession and try and dominate the game. We played on Thursday night but they’ve had a free week. I think they last played on Saturday so they’ve had plenty of time to prepare and recover. We need to use the ball very wisely because the ball never gets tired, so just move it quickly.”
