Ole explains our starting XI v Astana
TranscriptWatch our exclusive interview with Ole in the Old Trafford tunnel to hear the manager's thoughts on the team...
Ole, nine chances tonight. It’s a combination of youth and experience in the line-up? "It’s a mix. There’s players that need game time, that want to show me and the other staff that they should play more. I hope it can be a good blend so that that the experienced ones can help the younger players express themselves. They’re out there to enjoy themselves, but their elder professionals are there to make sure we win the game." We’re starting with an exciting line-up with three youngsters behind Marcus, who isn’t exactly old himself. "He actually started his career in this tournament. It’s a big game for the kids, we just hope they can enjoy it. But it’s a lot of responsibility on the others - we don’t expect the kids to be the ones that carry us though this tournament. So, the experienced ones need to step up and help them." Fifteen games if you go all the way in this competition, but it’s one we can win… "Yeah, we enter this with the hopes of getting to the final. Of course, the last time we were in we won it, so let’s just make sure we get a good start."
